How many covered passageways are there in Paris? 21 covered passageways are open to the public. When it's chilly or raining, they're a place of refuge in Paris. An original and unusual walk in the shade! Please note that some covered passageways are closed on Sundays. In the 19th century, they housed shops for wealthy families. They can be found on the right bank of Paris, mainly on the Grands Boulevards, but also in the Montorgueil district with the Passage du Grand Cerf.
